- Fire at Senior Housing Complex in Phoenix May Be Wrongful Death
Senior housing is a form of living that is growing in demand around Arizona and the United States as the population of the country collectively ages. As a result, more and more strain is being put on those who provide this form of housing. When this situation progresses, it often leads to serious problems if not to tragedies. Unfortunately, that appears to be what occurred with a fire that burned in a Phoenix senior housing development over the weekend. One man was killed, and if the fire could be traced to negligence by someone other than the resident, such a development could lead to calls for help to an Phoenix wrongful death attorney.
Negligence in Arizona Nursing Home Fire May Be To Blame
The fire started on Saturday night at the Washington Manor senior housing complex, which is located near 11th and Van Buren streets. Initial reports were that a woman was killed, but that report was corrected. At this point, no one is sure what caused this fire, but rescue workers had to appear by the dozens in order to assist residents who were trapped inside the building as the apartment on the second floor burned. A male resident whose name was not released was killed in the apartment where the fire apparently started.
When situations like these arise, it can take quite some time to pinpoint a cause for such an occurrence. However, when the cause of this fire is identified, it could lead to a the possibility of negligence by the care providers at the facility. Generally, reasonable care workers are expected to take steps to keep residents out of harm’s way as much as they can, and allowing a resident access to something flammable could constitute negligence in certain situations. Much more will be learned as investigators complete their work.
How We May Be Able To Help
If it turns out that the senior living facility was responsible for the fire that took place which killed the resident, it could lead to the filing of an Arizona wrongful death lawsuit by the family of the man who was killed against the facility. If such a lawsuit was filed and was successful, it could lead to an award of damages that compensates the family for their medical, funeral and burial costs as well as any lost income and their loss of companionship. Damages in an Arizona wrongful death lawsuit are always dependent on the facts that led to the tragedy.

My Attorney Sean Davis and his paralegal Hannah Dustin worked on my case. They listened to the problems that I was having with my case and they both got right to work. First they found me a doctor that actually listened to my problems from my car accident and worked quickly to form a plan that was comfortable for me and the doctor. The doctor was the best and after a couple of procedures the pain in my neck was gone. Behind the scenes Sean and Hannah were working hard to get my case settled with the insurance company. They kept in contact with me on all aspects of my case. They settled my case much faster than I expected and for more than I was expecting. If you want two real professional legal people to work on your case, I would highly recommend Sean and Hannah to you. I cannot say enough nice things about these two. Thank you so much, Rickey Hart .

It’s an Honor and a Privilege to work for a company that cares about its employees and clients for 12 years. I’ve seen Management go out of their way to help someone whether it’s a personal matter or work related. I am also reminded of many occasions where a Client needed urgent help and we as a Team were able to get the person immediate assistance. At Phillips Law we make that happen through Teamwork and a dedication to our profession. I’ve had numerous jobs in several other fields, those were just jobs. This is a home. Many of us have been here for quite a few years, it feels like one large extended family.

I tried a few previous law firms and none would take my car accident case with confidence they could get my anything. Phillips law group took my case and although it took around 4 years to get this case settled as I was in treatment, they never let up with insurance adjusters and they got me as much money as possible. They worked hard for me and advocated for me. Shoutout to key individuals who worked my case nonstop of the years, Robert Ross & Jasmine, you are AMAZING!
