A 23 year old off duty Tucson Police officer has been fired after pointing a gun at a convenience store clerk on Tuesday. The off duty officer was drunk when surveillance cameras caught him pointing the gun at the clerk multiple times.
When police arrived at the scene they caught and arrested the man at a nearby apartment complex. He is now being charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and has been fired from his job.
Aggravated assault is a crime that is not taken lightly in our Phoenix community and our attorneys believe that these incidences can cause permanent mental damage to those involved, especially to individuals at their place of work.
Not even a month ago another police officer in Tempe was caught texting while operating his motorcycle. There have been many images provided of this police officer as well. As members of our community we must all abide by the law and recognize that simply because we may be law enforcement officials, we are not above the law and must set an example for the citizens whom we have sworn to protect.
