Are Verbal Agreements Legally Binding?
Under Arizona’s Statute of Frauds, certain types of agreements must meet a specific set of criteria in order to be enforced by the court. There must be some form of written memorandum of the agreement. However, this does not mean that the agreement in its entirety has to be in writing.
In the event an agreement falls outside these guidelines, it may still be enforceable, but the burden of proof will generally lie with the party that is requiring these terms of agreement to be met, or by someone authorized by the party to sign on his or her behalf.
Business Litigation Services Our Firm Handles
For the past 27 years, Phillips Law Group has been representing individuals and companies in a variety of business and commercial disputes and lawsuits throughout the state of Arizona. Our legal team is prepared to handle numerous business litigation services, including but not limited to the following:
Breach of Contract
In a contract, both parties agree to certain obligations toward one another in some type of exchange. When one or more parties fail to meet the terms of their agreement, this can be considered a breach of contract. A contract may be excusable if one of the parties lacks the mental capacity to make a contract or one of the parties withheld vital information the other party should have been informed of when making the contract.
Corporate, Partnership And Member Disputes
There are many different levels in a business relationship. There are also obligations that are the basis for good faith and fair dealing. Partnerships expect members to carry out their responsibilities effectively in a business operation. In order for partners to make sound business decisions, proper disclosure is also necessary.
When there is a lack of communication and obligations are not being met, disputes can happen that lead to a lawsuit. Corporate disputes can also happen over the acquisition, merging or break-up of a business.
These types of disputes commonly centered on worker claims of unfair treatment, hostile work environment and allegations of employment harassment and/or discrimination. These can also include wage and hour disputes and other employment-related issues such as paid time off, health care and maternity leave.
Contractual disputes could include broken or unfulfilled agreements, mispresentation of terms, fraudulent practices, and disagreements related to the interpretation of the contract’s language. A contract is only valid when both parties are willing to accept the terms and conditions.
Intellectual Property Disputes
A company’s intellectual property is fundamental to its success and profitability. Disputes often arise due to patent, trademark, or copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, or patent misuse, and can cost businesses and individuals a great deal of revenue and profits.
Our attorneys have a proven track record of obtaining compensation on behalf of our clients. Let us help you try to obtain a fair resolution for any disputes you may have with another party.
Can Hiring a Lawyer Help My Case?
There are many benefits to hiring an experienced business litigation lawyer to represent you and your business’s best interests. He or she can offer you legal advice on matters that affect you so that you may be able to avoid further issues. A lawyer can also help explain the legal process, including certain tactics the other party may use to discredit you, as well as the evidence needed to build a strong case for compensation.
Business litigation cases are complex and time consuming. It could take months or even years to resolve a case depending on your situation and who else is involved in the dispute. That is why it is important to seek legal representation to ensure that you are brought up to date on all the latest developments in the case.

Jeffrey Phillips is truly a brilliant attorney and businessman. I would not hesitate for a moment to contact him if I needed a personal injury attorney in Arizona, you would be fortunate to have him and his team. If you have a car accident, slip and fall in a store, or get punched in the face, call Phillips.
Sophia H is very helpful.
I tried a few previous law firms and none would take my car accident case with confidence they could get my anything. Phillips law group took my case and although it took around 4 years to get this case settled as I was in treatment, they never let up with insurance adjusters and they got me as much money as possible. They worked hard for me and advocated for me. Shoutout to key individuals who worked my case nonstop of the years, Robert Ross & Jasmine, you are AMAZING!

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value As someone who is familiar with the inner workings of the auto insurance industry I can whole heartedly endorse Steven J. Jones and Phillips law group as someone I would want on my side should litigation take place. They handled my case professionally, honestly, and with satisfactory results which I would not have expected without enlisting their help.
