When someone is attempting to make a left turn across oncoming traffic, that driver needs to be able to judge the speed and distance of any oncoming vehicles properly in order to complete that turn safely. However, that timing is always thrown off when an oncoming vehicle is moving at a rate of speed that's much faster than normal, especially when the vehicle attempting a left turn is hauling a large trailer. Tragically, speed is believed to have been a factor in a fatal Phoenix truck accident that provides an example of the help that Phoenix truck accident lawyers should provide when something goes horribly wrong. if you or a loved one has been involved in a similar truck accident, contact the attorneys at Phillips Law Group today.
According to authorities, this fatal Phoenix trucking accident occurred on Friday at 6 a.m. when an unidentified 30-year-old man was driving a Ford pickup that was hauling a 20-foot trailer attempted to make a left turn off of an access road of Interstate 17, just north of Dixileta Drive. As he did so, his vehicle was struck by an oncoming dump truck that was coming in the opposite direction. As a result of the crash, the man driving the pickup truck was killed. The driver of the dump truck and a passenger in the pickup truck also suffered minor injuries, and police are continuing to investigate the situation.
We'd like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of the man who was killed in this Phoenix trucking accident. Losing a life in this violent and random manner is always a tragedy, and we hope the investigation of the crash comes to a conclusion soon so that those who were involved can move on with some form of closure. In addition, this Phoenix auto accident will now become part of the overall statistics regarding Arizona auto accidents. Every year, approximately 65,000 people are injured and more than 1,000 are killed in these collisions.
While it's too early to know for sure which party was at fault or whether both parties share responsibility for this crash, if it turns out that the driver of the dump truck caused the accident it could lead to the filing of an Arizona wrongful death lawsuit by the pickup truck driver's family. This claim could be filed against the driver and the employer, and if successful it could lead to an award of damages that compensates the family for their immediate costs including medical care and funeral arrangements as well as their lost income and their loss of companionship.
If you have lost someone you love in a crash, you need to obtain the help of skilled personal injury attorneys who have been fighting on behalf of grieving families for many years. Contact an accident lawyer from the Phillips Law Group today to schedule a free initial consultation.
