On Thursday, Odwalla Inc. voluntarily recalled the Odwalla Chocolate Protein Monster beverage because customers with peanut allergies have experienced severe allergic reactions after consuming the product. The company is recalling the 12-ounce and 32-ounces bottles of the beverage, that have an "enjoy date" of May 23, 2012. The drink was sold at stores nationwide.
People who have allergies or a severe sensitivity to peanuts or tree nuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume the drink.
According to USA Today, Odwalla and the Food and Drug Administration are investigating the cause of the allergic reactions because the beverage does not contain peanut or tree nut ingredients.
If you or a loved one has become ill after consuming a protein drink, you may be entitled to compensation. Contact the personal injury lawyers at Phillips Law Group to discuss your legal options. To receive a free case review, fill out the online contact form on this page.
