Getting off of a metro transit bus is an activity that many people partake in and that most take for granted in terms of the potential danger involved. Tragically, one local man paid the ultimate price for attempting to cross a street after getting off of a city bus this morning, as he was killed by a passing school bus. According to authorities, the latest Phoenix pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 7:30 this morning when an 18-year-old man got off of a city bus at 46th Street and Broadway Road. He crossed in front of the bus as is usually how it’s done, but as he attempted to cross the street he was hit by a passing school bus. Police indicated that the driver of the school bus did not have time to react before colliding with the man, and he was killed at the scene. Police also mentioned that it’s likely that none of the young children on the bus saw the crash occur.
