Head-On Crash Leaves One Dead, Another Seriously Hurt

LITTLEFIELD, AZ – One person died and another was rushed to the hospital following a head-on collision along I-15 last Friday night.

According to St. George News, the three-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. a few miles south of Littlefield.

Investigators believe 46-year-old Victoria Lynn Luzzi rear-ended a Dodge pickup truck with her Chrysler 300, which skidded into the oncoming lane and collided head on with a Ford pickup.

Emergency crews worked to extricate the unconscious Luzzi from her vehicle. However, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The unidentified driver in the Ford was also seriously injured and trapped in his vehicle. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

The 27-year-old man in the Dodge sustained only minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital.

Traffic on this portion of the interstate was shut down for several hours while crews worked the scene.
