Woman Dies in Oro Valley Chain Reaction Car Crash

blurred daytime photo of ambulance enrouteTUCSON, AZ – A woman was killed as the result of a chain-reaction crash in Oro Valley on Saturday afternoon.

According to KGUN-9, the four-vehicle collision took place just before 3 p.m. within the intersection of Oracle Road and Hardy Road.

Police say 50-year-old Kathleen Marie Rich was heading south towards the intersection when her Fiat 500 slammed into the rear of another vehicle. As a result, the vehicle she struck was pushed into two others.

Rich was taken to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later. It is unclear if anyone else was injured during the crash.
