Child and a Woman Burned in South Phoenix Home Fire

A seven-year-old child and a woman were taken to a hospital with burn injuries after a fire at a home in south Phoenix on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Fire crews were dispatched to the home near Dobbins Road and 27th Avenue after reports of smoke in the attic, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. The attic was on fire when the crews arrived. Firefighters cleared the home, and the woman and child sustained minor burn injuries.

Crews extinguished the fire in the attic and prevented further damage to the rest of the home. No firefighters were injured during the incident. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
