MESA, AZ – A trailer fire on a busy freeway caused significant delays for drivers in Mesa on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a tweet by the Arizona Department of Transportation, firefighters responded to the scene shortly after 10:45 a.m. within the eastbound lanes of U.S. 60 at Val Vista Drive.

It is still unclear what may have sparked the blaze. However, the ramp was shut down for over two hours while crews worked to extinguish the fire. All lanes were reopened before 1 p.m.
No injuries were reported as a result of the trailer fire.
