MESA, AZ – A bicyclist died in Mesa early Saturday morning after being struck by a driver who immediately fled the scene.
According to 12 News, the incident happened close to the intersection of East McKellips Road and North Horne at about 5:00 a.m. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle speeding east on McKellips after the crash.
The bicyclist was rushed to a local hospital with a serious head injury. He was pronounced dead shortly after undergoing surgery.
