Pregnant Woman and Unborn Child Killed in Chandler Crash

road sign pointing to ChandlerCHANDLER, AZ – A woman and her unborn child were killed in a collision caused by a suspected drunk driver in south Chandler on Sunday morning.

According to 12 News, 33-year-old Roland Enos was southbound on Arizona Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. when he slammed his car into the back of a vehicle at the intersection with Ocotillo Road.

Beatrice Gonzales, a pregnant woman who was a passenger in the second vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, as was her unborn child.

Three other occupants in Gonzales’s vehicle were taken to Chandler Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Enos was arrested after being evaluated for impairment at the scene. He is currently facing two counts of manslaughter, one count of aggravated assault, and two counts of endangerment.
