PHOENIX, AZ – A fiery collision on Loop 202 Saturday morning killed one motorist and injured another.
According to CBS 5, the two-vehicle crash was reported at about 9:30 a.m. within the eastbound lanes of Loop 202 near 17th Avenue.
The cause of the collision is unclear at this time. However, firefighters arrived at the scene to find one vehicle completely engulfed in flames with a single occupant trapped inside. The unidentified driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorist suffered minor injuries.
Traffic built up in the area behind the wreck for several hours. The freeway was completely reopened shortly before 1 p.m.
