North Phoenix Head-on-Collision Seriously Injures Two

PHOENIX, AZ – Two people were hospitalized following a head-on collision that happened north of downtown Phoenix on Saturday evening.

AZ Family News reports that on Saturday evening at about 7:45 p.m., the driver of a red car who was traveling southbound on 19th Avenue suddenly drifted into the lane of oncoming traffic, just south of the intersection at Cactus Road, and collided head-on with an SUV.

Both the driver and a 10-year-old passenger suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

Police say the driver may have been impaired at the time of the crash.

We do not know whether anyone in the SUV was hurt.
