Morning Crash Closes I-8 Westbound Lanes Near Gila Bend

GILA BEND, AZ – Major delays were reported following a crash on I-8 just east of Gila Bend early on Thursday.

According to Arizona DOT, the crash occurred at about 6:49 a.m. along the westbound lanes of the interstate, near SR-84.

It is unclear at this time how many vehicles were involved in the crash or whether any injuries occurred.

CLOSED: I-8 WB is closed at milepost 142 past SR 84. The closure is due to a crash. #aztraffic

The westbound lanes were closed for about two hours while emergency crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes have since been reopened.
