Toddler Left Alone at Stolen Vehicle Accident Scene

A three-year-old child was left in the backseat of a stolen vehicle that was involved in an accident in Phoenix, according to authorities. At about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday night, June 21st, police responded to reports of a stolen car at 16th and Washington street. According to the victim, he had left his car running and a child was in the back seat. Officers spotted the vehicle about a mile down the road, at 24th and Monroe streets, and began following it.

The vehicle fled west on Van Buren Street. Approximately 45 minutes later, Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash near I-10 and Chandler Boulevard. When they arrived, the child was found in the vehicle uninjured and the suspect had fled.
