TUCSON, AZ – One person is in police custody following a wrong-way collision on Tucson’s South Side Wednesday evening.

According to KOLD, the accident took place shortly before 7:23 p.m., when a vehicle traveling on Valencia Road entered the oncoming lanes between 12th Avenue and 6th Avenue.

The wrong-way driver collided with two other cars before exiting their vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot. Police found that person in a nearby apartment complex and took them into custody.

It is still unclear if anyone involved in the crash was hurt. We will continue to follow this developing story and provide any pertinent updates, should they be released to the public.
