TUCSON, AZ - A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a high-speed collision in north Tucson late last week, KGUN reports.
The crash took place at about 8:10 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Grant Road and Los Altos Avenue.
A Chevrolet Impala made a left turn into the westbound lanes of Grant Rd., where it was struck by a 2009 Kawasaki ZX600 motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle, 19-year-old Steven Christopher Rohr, was rushed to Banner University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Investigators determined excessive speed may have been a contributing factor in the fatal crash.
