Phoenix Teen Helping Other Victims of Traumatic Events

Phoenixteen Asia Ruottinen is helping others who havebeen through a traumatic accident like she has, FOX 10 reported. Ruottinen was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in 2018, which placed her in a medically induced coma.

According to police, she was hit by the driver of a car while crossing the street near Grand Avenue and Indian School Road. Ruottinen was fighting for her life in the hospital for two months with numerous injuries, including broken eye sockets, a broken pelvis, and brain damage.

Ruottinen has started a group at her high schoolin which she can help others who have been through traumatic events. She said she wants them to know they are not alone. “The majority of the time I’m dealing with it alone and didn’t have people to understand where I was and where I was coming from,” she told FOX 10. “I just want to help other people.”
