Suspected DUI Accident in East Mesa Leaves One Dead

MESA, AZ – One person died as the result of a suspected drunk driving accident in east Mesa Thursday morning, AZ Family reports.
The two-vehicle collision happened at about 11 a.m. near Main Street and Dobson Road.
Officers with the Mesa Police Department say the driver of a red Chevrolet Camaro collided with a Nissan Murano, pushing the Nissan into a third vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to a nearby hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries a short time later. The driver in the Camaro attempted to flee the scene but was caught and arrested.
No other serious injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
No identities have been released.
