Hit-and-Run Driver Who Killed Boy Taken Into Custody

TUCSON, AZ – Officials with the Tucson Police Department have arrested a suspect in connection to a hit-and-run accident that killed a nine-year-old boy last Wednesday.

According to KGUN9, 39-year-old Ernesto Carrizoza struck Ed Lautaire and his brother Max while they were attempting to cross East Broadway Boulevard. 10-year-old Max survived the accident. However, nine-year-old Ed died from his injuries.

Carrizoza fled the scene in his BMW SUV, which was located by police on Friday near Masterson Avenue and Alvord Road.

Carrizoza was arrested and is facing several felony charges, including second-degree murder.
