Multiple People Injured After Car Runs Red Light and Smashes into Gas Pump

img-gas-station-car crashed into pumpTEMPE, AZ – Six people were hospitalized after a driver ran a red light in south Tempe early this morning and hit a pickup truck parked at a nearby gas station.

According to 12 News, a car drove through the red light at Kyrene Road and Baseline Road and slammed into a pickup truck stopped at a gas pump.

All five occupants of the first vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital, as was the pickup’s driver. Some of the individuals suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe speed played a role in the crash.
