Semi-Truck Fire Closed I-10 For Several Hours Saturday

TUCSON, AZ -Officials with the Arizona Department of Transportation were forced to close several lanes of I-10 following a reported semi-truck fire Saturday evening.

According to KOLD, the incident was reported within the eastbound lanes of I-10 at milepost 293, near Empirita Road.

The Department of Public Safety later verified that the vehicle involved in the crash and the ensuing blaze was a semi. However, no information on the circumstances of the crash or whether any injuries were sustained has been made available.

All eastbound lanes in this portion of I-10 were closed for several hours following the incident. They have since been reopened.
