CHANDLER, AZ – Officials with the Arizona Department of Public Safety have reported two fatalities as the result of a pickup vs. semi collision Tuesday afternoon.

According to ABC 15, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of SR-101 near Frye Road at about 3:15 p.m.

Police at the scene say the unidentified female driver of a pickup truck rear-ended the large tractor-trailer. Both the driver and her male passenger were fatally injured in the crash.

It is unclear whether the driver of the semi was injured.

No further details are available at this time.
