Backyard Fire Damages Two Homes Near Pima Road

A shed fire spread to two houses in Scottsdale in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to authorities. The fire broke out at a house nearPima Road and McDonald Drive. According to the Scottsdale Fire Department, the fire began when neighborhood residents burned a stump in their backyard. That fire spread to the home and the garage of the house next door. The woman living there was able to escape uninjured.

Firefighters from Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix, and Mesa were able to extinguish both fires. According to the Scottsdale Fire Department, both homes sustained significant damage and are without power. Although no injuries were reported, the homeowners cannot enter their houses until they have been repaired.
