Woman Seriously Hurt in Retirement Home Fire in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – Officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a retirement home Tuesday that left a woman with serious injuries.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the blaze erupted at a facility near the intersection of 12th Avenue and Washington Street at about 8 p.m.

Firefighters safely evacuated the home of about 100 residents, then made their way to a third-floor unit where they found a small kitchen fire and a woman unconscious on the floor.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. No further details on her condition or identity have been released at this time.
