Fatal Phoenix Crash Involving USPS Vehicle and Box Truck
PHOENIX, AZ – A postal worker was killed when his vehicle was hit by a box truck in Phoenix on Tuesday, Fox 10 Phoenix reports.
Police say the box truck slammed into the rear of 59-year-old Michael Blanton’s USPS vehicle at about 6:18 p.m. while it was stopped near McDowell Road and 52nd Street.
Blanton’s vehicle caught fire following the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The driver of the box truck, an unidentified 35-year-old man, was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
