Phillips Law Group Donates Computer Monitors to Schools in Bosnia

Phillips Law Group donated a number of computer monitors and printers to schools in Bosnia in March 2023.

When Phillips Law Group recently had a number of computer monitors and printers left over after upgrading the firm’s computer systems, one staff member had a suggestion for how they could do some good.

Sedina Burzic, who works in Human Resources, spoke of the items to her father, Sulejman Burzic, who regularly has items like carpets, rugs, clothes, shoes, and more donated to people in need in Bosnia. With a container shipment scheduled to be loaded up in March, he asked if the computer monitors could be donated to a great cause – schools in Bosnia, specifically in his hometown Buzim, where he has donated to clubs and organizations before.

As Sedina explained, “The timing was perfect,” so her father reached out to a leader over in his hometown to see if the monitors could be useful. After getting positive feedback, Sedina, Sulejman, and their friends and family got to work preparing the items for shipment.

While Phillips Law Group regularly participates in volunteer events and makes frequent donations to Arizona organizations the firm works with often, this computer monitor donation would turn out to be something a little different – in fact, the total donation of the computer monitors and printers would end up being one of the largest single donations the firm had ever made.

Sulejman has been coordinating shipments to Bosnia for more than 10 years, helping schools and sports teams there with much-needed items. This is also a way that people in Arizona in the Bosnian community can send things to their less fortunate loved ones. On March 3rd, he was able to guide the process of getting the monitors and printers out of the Phillips Law Group offices and into a truck bound for a loading container that could take up to three months to reach the country on the Balkan Peninsula.

Sulejman doesn’t get rich off of these donations – as Sedina explained, he simply knows it’s a “good deed” to give back to the country he came from. In this particular instance, the Phillips team was just lucky enough to have a chance to help.

As a company, Phillips Law Group has a strong commitment to community outreach, and making a difference for others is at the heart of much of what the team at Phillips does every day.
