PHOENIX, AZ – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in a northeast Phoenix neighborhood Saturday night.

According to AZ Family News – CBS 5, the collision happened at the intersection of 40th Street and Cactus Road sometime before 9:40 p.m.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital for serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No identities have been released.

Police have not said whether speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
