Phoenix Man Struck and Killed by Car Saturday Night

PHOENIX, AZ – A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle southwest of downtown Phoenix Saturday night.

According to 12 News, the accident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. around the intersection of South 16th Avenue and West Buckeye Road. Police believe the man was struck by a vehicle traveling in the westbound lane of W. Buckeye Road.

The unidentified 54-year-old man was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. He succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The driver remained at the scene. Police do not believe speeding or impairment were factors in the crash.
