Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Reported on W Calle Matus

TUCSON, AZ – Police in Tucson have reported a single fatality resulting from a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian last Thursday.

According to KOLD News 13, the incident occurred when a 2004 Ford F-150 jumped the curb along North 15th Avenue, crashed into a vacant yard in the 700 block of West Calle Matus, and hit the pedestrian. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The male victim, who has yet to be identified, sustained major injuries in the crash. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tucson police continued to search for the driver as of Friday evening, and urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them immediately.
