PHOENIX, AZ - A man was killed while attempting to cross a busy north Phoenix Street on Thursday night.
According to CBS 5, the 44-year-old man was struck by an SUV at about 9:30 p.m. as he crossed near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Bell Road.
Police say the man was walking against the signal at the time. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Police do not believe the driver involved was impaired. It is unclear whether the victim was.
