PHOENIX, AZ - A woman was taken into custody after she fatally struck a pedestrian in Phoenix on Thursday morning.
According to a report by CBS 5, the woman struck the unidentified male pedestrian with her SUV while he was crossing in the area of 22nd Avenue and Indian School Road.
Investigators say the man was not in the crosswalk when he was struck. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The female driver of the SUV showed signs of impairment at the scene and was arrested. It is unclear what charges she will face at this time.
