Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Car near Grand Avenue

A pedestrian who was struck by a car in Glendale on Aug. 15 has died, according to officials. Glendale Police responded to a crash near Grand Avenue and Orangewood Avenue at 11:40 last Saturday night, according to department spokesperson Sgt. Tara Ochoa.A car traveling north on Grand Avenuestruck a man who was in the road, Ochoa said.

The victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.Speeding and intoxication are not believed to have been factors in thecollision. None of the people involved in the accident have been identified by police. A portion of Grand Avenuewas closed for several hours in both directions because of the accident, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
