Pedestrian, Suspect Identified in Fatal Tucson Accident

TUCSON, AZ – Police in Tucson have released the identities of both the suspect and the victim in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on Sunday night.

According to the Arizona Daily Star, 31-year-old Tyler Lindsey Tolleson was struck at about 10:30 p.m. while he was walking in the area of N Stone Avenue and E Glenn Street.

The driver, 25-year-old Joseph Howard Jackson, fled the scene on foot, but was located a short time later. Jackson was impaired when he struck Tolleson.

Tolleson, who was not walking in the designated crossing area, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jackson was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of a DUI and failure to stop at a fatal collision. He now faces a charge of second-degree murder.
