Truck-Related Crash in Tucson Leaves One Passenger Dead

fatal crash between vehicle and overturned tractor-trailer TUCSON, AZ – One person is dead after a vehicle slammed into an overturned tractor-trailer in Tucson on Tuesday night.

According to KOLD, the crash was reported shortly before 11:30 p.m. on the northbound side of I-19, near the Pima Mine Road overpass.

Troopers say the tractor-trailer overturned and was subsequently hit by two separate vehicles. The first vehicle sideswiped the truck and careened into the median. The second vehicle crashed directly into the trailer.

The passenger in the second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. That vehicle’s driver was rushed to the hospital alongside the truck’s driver. Their present conditions are unknown.

We do not know what caused the semi to overturn at this time.
