One Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash Near 27th and Camelback

police at night responding to crashPHOENIX, AZ – One man was killed and another seriously injured after a collision involving five vehicles overnight Saturday.

According to CBS 5, the crash happened around 2 a.m. when an Acura sedan ran a red light at the intersection of 27th Avenue and Camelback Road and slammed into a Chrysler and three other cars that were stopped at the light.

The unidentified driver that caused the crash was hospitalized in serious condition. His passenger, 46-year-old Dereck Ashe, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
