Mesa Collision on US 60 Leaves One Dead, Three Hurt

MESA, AZ – One person is dead and three others are injured following a multi-vehicle crash that took place on US 60 in Mesa Saturday evening.

According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. on April 3, on eastbound US 60 near S Alma School Road. A driver was attempting to tow a disabled vehicle from the emergency lane into the main traffic lanes when his car was hit by a passing vehicle as it merged into the HOV lane. The man’s car was struck again as he exited it.

Emergency responders took the injured driver to an area hospital, where he died. His identity has not been released at this time.

Three other people were also injured in the collision, which drew a response from the Arizona Highway Patrol as well as the Mesa Fire and Medical Department. We have no details on their identities or current conditions.

The roadway was closed until 1 a.m. Sunday as crews worked the scene.
