emergency lights approachingWICKENBURG, AZ – A collision along a dangerous stretch of US-93 near Wickenburg resulted in at least one fatality early this morning.

According to CBS 5, the crash took place shortly before 4:30 a.m. near milepost 172, just north of the town of Congress.

Photos from the scene show one vehicle severely burned on the side of the freeway with its front end destroyed. A pickup truck was also seen being towed from the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are unclear at this time.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending further investigation.
