PHOENIX, AZ – A woman was killed, and two other persons were rushed to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Phoenix Tuesday evening.
According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the two-vehicle crash occurred at about 6:40 p.m. The driver of a Chevrolet Camaro ran a red light at the intersection of 40th Street and Washington Street and struck another vehicle.
The collision sent one of the vehicles spinning into a 64-year-old pedestrian who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver in the car that was struck by the Camaro was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died. She has been identified as 40-year-old Madalena Mendonca. Mendonca’s 19-year-old passenger was also hospitalized in critical condition.
The man in the Camaro, 28-year-old Austin B. Clark, was arrested on charges of manslaughter, endangerment, and aggravated assault.
