Eight-Vehicle Crash Kills One, Injures Three on Sunday

pic of top of ambulance with red and blue lightsPHOENIX, AZ – A man died and three others suffered serious injuries resulting from a major collision in North Phoenix on Sunday, CBS 5 reports.

The crash occurred at about 5 p.m., when the driver of a Toyota Camry ran the red light at Central Avenue and Camelback Road. Police say eight vehicles were eventually involved.

Three women and a man were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The male victim, 35-year-old Jesus Padilla, died a short time later.

The woman responsible for the crash showed signs of impairment at the scene. She may face criminal charges, pending the results of a toxicology test.
