GREEN VALLEY, AZ – An elderly motorist was involved in a dramatic single-vehicle accident on Interstate 19 near Esperanza Boulevard Wednesday morning, reports Green Valley News. No injuries were reported.
The 79-year-old driver was attempting to exit the interstate when, he told emergency responders, his SUV’s brakes failed. The driver managed to swerve, avoiding a collision with cars that were stopped at the bottom of the off-ramp.
The SUV struck a fence outside Arizona Family Restaurant, then came to rest on a dirt embankment facing downhill. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not hurt.
