motorcycle wheel up closePHOENIX, AZ – A motorcyclist died Monday morning following a crash on Loop 202 near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

According to CBS 5, the motorcycle crashed near the AZ-143 interchange shortly before 11 a.m.

Witnesses told police the victim might have been racing another driver prior to the collision. However, no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The eastbound lanes of Loop 202 were shut down for over an hour while crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes were reopened at about 12:30 p.m.
