A motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries, and a passenger sustained minor injuries in a crash in Phoenix on Wednesday, the Arizona Republic reported.

First responders rushed to the scene of the motorcycle-passenger vehicle crash near 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, according to Capt. Rob McDade, a spokesperson with the Phoenix Fire Department. McDade said Phoenix police are investigating the accident. Authorities believe that another vehicle rear-ended the motorcycle, injuring the rider and passenger.
