Motorcyclist Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A 34-year-old man was killed following a motorcycle crash just outside of the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on Saturday night, KOLD reports.

The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m., as Matthew Davis Burns was riding his Harley-Davidson X1 1200 within the 3300 block of South Golf Links Road.

Investigators say Burns was traveling west on Golf Links Rd. when he failed to negotiate a curve, struck the median, and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Excessive speed is believed to be a factor in the fatal crash.
