57-Year-Old Killed After Crash into Rock Embarkment

A man died in a single-vehicle crash on the southwest side of Tucson early Sunday, Aug. 30, according to officials. Law enforcement responded to the single-vehicle crash around midnight at West Valencia Road and South Beehive Avenue, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.

Peter Cupis, 57, was traveling westbound and crashed into a rock embarkment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Valencia Road was closed for several hours as the sheriff’s department investigated.
