Bicyclist Killed After Being Hit By Truck in South Tucson

bicycle lane near south tucson intersectionTUCSON, AZ – A man was fatally struck by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle in south Tucson on Monday afternoon, KOLD News 13 reports.

The incident happened at 1:23 p.m. on June 28th, near the intersection of South 12th Avenue and West Santa Paula Street.

Investigators believe that Peter Olguin, 43, made an unsafe maneuver as he was riding his bicycle in the 6400 block of South 12th, and was then hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Olguin was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day.

No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
