Man Arrested and Charged After Fatal State Route 87 Crash

fatal crash caution tapePAYSON, AZ – Police have arrested the man they believe caused a four-vehicle crash that killed three people last Friday.

According to KOLD News 13, the collision occurred on State Route 87 between Pine and Payson, at about 8:30 p.m. on April 16. A white pickup truck driven by 49-year-old James David Duncan crossed into oncoming traffic and struck several vehicles.

Three people died as a result of the crash. They have been identified as 54-year-old Georgia Marie Burnside, 38-year-old Latissia Morris, and a 15-year-old juvenile male.

Duncan was also injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police arrested him on Tuesday and booked him into Maricopa County Jail on three counts of manslaughter and five counts of endangerment, as well as DUI.
