GLENDALE, AZ – A man was killed early this morning in a wrong-way crash on Loop 101 in Glendale, 3TV/CBS 5 reports.
Investigators say a white Kia was driving south in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Cardinals Way when it collided with a semi-truck at about 1:30 a.m.
The Kia’s unidentified driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the semi was unhurt.
Traffic in the northbound lanes was shut down until about 6 a.m. while troopers investigated the accident scene.
Police say impairment may have played a role in the fatal crash, but an investigation is ongoing.
