Lieutenant Hit and Killed By SUV While Directing Traffic

police car at busy intersectionSCOTTSDALE, AZ – A 22-year veteran with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was fatally struck by an SUV in Scottsdale Wednesday.

According to a report by ABC 15, Lieutenant Chad Brackman was directing traffic near the intersection of 87th Street and McDowell Road when he was hit.

Brackman was rushed to HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center, where he died a short time later. The driver who hit him was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
